Donations instead of gifts for Christmas - these 6 donation projects raise funds for a good cause

Not only is the retail sector booming during the Christmas season, but many charitable organizations are also enjoying an increase in donations. To support the "donations instead of gifts" trend, we present six inspiring donation organizations that Payrexx can count among its customers.

Payrexx introduces six donation organizations.

The streets are festively lit, the smell of gingerbread and mulled wine fills the air and retailers' tills are running hot. That can only mean one thing: Christmas is just around the corner. It's high season not only in the stores, but also online, and people are buying bags of presents that will soon find their place under the Christmas tree. Companies are also giving chocolate and other creative gifts to shareholders, board members and employees.

But wouldn't there be a more sensible alternative? In the spirit of "donations instead of gifts", we present six charitable organizations with great causes that collect donations simply and easily with the Payrexx online donation tool.

The Sikypark - the Swiss animal rescue park

The Swiss Animal Rescue Park in Crémines rescues native and exotic animals in need and gives them a home. The park is home to 550 animals from 74 species, including cats of prey, parrots, wolves and water buffalo. Over 90% of the animals in the Sikypark come from animal rescues, confiscations and donations, which sets the zoo apart from other zoos.

Sikypark relies on support from donations, animal sponsorships or a visit to the park to be able to offer the animals a dignified last stage of their lives and provide them with the appropriate living conditions. There, visitors can get to know the animals, some of which have a moving past, up close and learn more about their history. The animals play an important role in educating and raising awareness, as ambassadors for their species and fellow sufferers.

NetzCourage - against digital violence

NetzCourage is a donation-funded advice center that offers free legal and psychosocial advice and support to those affected by digital violence. The NetzCourage team fights for humane interactions in the digital space by raising awareness and supporting hundreds of affected people every year with the #NetzAmbulanz project - from managing social media profiles to settlement or court hearings.

Those affected by digital violence receive free support around the clock, regardless of their social status, their beliefs or the stories they carry in their backpacks. The organization also focuses on prevention and organizes awareness-raising workshops at schools, organizations and companies, among other things.

AnimalHuman Farm

The TierMensch farm offers animals a species-appropriate place to live. The farm animals include animals that nobody wanted any more, that were neglected or that would have been slaughtered. Many come from factory farming or have been instrumentalized for the benefit of humans. At the TierMensch farm, they no longer have to experience this, but are respected as individuals.

Supporters can help the association with food donations, care vouchers or animal sponsorships. In winter in particular, large quantities of straw are needed to keep all the lying areas warm and cozy, as well as large quantities of hay because there is not enough grass in the pastures and the animals have to be fed additional hay.

The TBB Animal Welfare Foundation

The purpose of the Animal Welfare Foundation TBB Switzerland is to protect and promote the interests of animals and animal welfare. Its main task is to protect all animals from suffering, poor husbandry and abuse. The foundation pursues various national and regional animal protection and education projects with a focus on the protection of children and young people. It runs a contact point for missing and found animals and works together with the Swiss Animal Reporting Center STMZ in this regard. The animal welfare advice center receives up to 250 reports of unsatisfactory husbandry conditions every year, and all reports are followed up.

Abandoned, injured, neglected and confiscated animals are cared for and looked after 365 days a year at the Birs animal shelter. EMAUA - Reforestation in Kenya

EMAUA is a Swiss-Kenyan project that aims to plant one million indigenous trees annually in the tropics by 2025. The aim is to create a scalable model for reforestation with native and species-rich trees in populated areas of the tropics, while improving the living standards of local communities.

The mature plants are distributed free of charge to rural communities and farmers receive training on the importance of native trees. Incentives are also provided to encourage the best survival rates of the trees, such as the construction of improved stoves that reduce families' firewood consumption by 66%. From December to January, EMAUA is running a crowdfunding campaign to raise new funds to support the project.
